Jangkau Digital TM X MUKUT:
Kampung Mukut Reimagines as a Smart Eco Village
Nestled within the beauty of Tioman lies Kg Mukut — a village rich in culture, biodiversity, and potential. Through TM’s “Jangkau Digital” programme, we connect this coastal gem to the future by enabling digital access, uplifting the community, shaping the next generation, and preserving its nature.Â
DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE: Fueled for ProgressÂ
Digital connectivity is essential infrastructure for education, livelihoods and safety
WiFi for All
Public WiFi in communal areas and learning centres and tourist hotspots, because opportunity begins with a strong signal.
CCTV Surveillance
Installed at key public areas to support community safety efforts and peace of mind for locals and visitors.
Future-Ready Foundation
With TM as its digital backbone, Mukut is now positioned to explore IoT, smart tourism, and eco-tech innovations.Â
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Uplifting Lives, Sustaining Dreams Â
We believe development should be inclusive, purposeful, and lasting. In Kg Mukut, our community-first approach means:Â
Empowering MSMEs
Digital tools and training for local entrepreneurs, from boat operators, shopkeepers to homestay hosts, restaurant owners, and self-care services.
CSR in Action
Support such as infrastructure upgrades and community programmes that strengthen village resilience.
Capability Building for Youth
Skill-building programmes, leadership programmes, and digital upskilling that give the next generation a head start.Â
EDUCATION & INSPIRATION: Opening Minds, Empowering AmbitionÂ
In Kg Mukut, learning goes beyond the classroom — it happens on water, in sports, and through real-life experiences, supported by the TM Future Skills (TMFS) programme that equips students with digital, STEM and future-ready skills.Â
STEM Exposure
Hands-on workshops and tools that make tech relatable and exciting for village students.Â
Sailing & Sports
Programmes that build discipline, confidence, and international potential through island-rooted activities.Â
Motivational Journeys
Up-skilling talks, mentor sessions, and story-sharing to remind youths: your dreams are valid, and your roots are your strength.Â
Rebuilding for Resilience, Beautifying for BelongingÂ
At the heart of every thriving community is the space it calls home. As part of TM’s commitment to holistic development in Kg Mukut, we’re not only connecting the village digitally — we’re also strengthening its foundations, quite literally.Â
By improving and painting key bridges and jetty points, we aim to:Â
- Ensure safe, reliable access across the village
- Preserve critical infrastructure that supports daily life and tourism
- Bring new life to public spaces as a source of pride for the community.
The following locations are part of this initiative:Â
- Jambatan Air Demik 1
- Jambatan Air Demik 2
- Jambatan Sungai Kelopak
- Jambatan Sungai Pelepah
- Jambatan Sungai Raya
- Jambatan Sungai Kebang
- Mukut Tourist Centre (previously known as Jeti Penumpang)
- Main Jetty
These physical upgrades reflect something deeper — our respect for Mukut’s people, culture, and future. It’s not just about paint or repairs, but about preserving what matters and creating a place where progress feels at home.Â
Â
Bridges of Connection: Stories & Solutions
In Kg Mukut, bridges aren’t just physical links — they connect memories, myths, and milestones. As we upgrade these essential structures, we also honour the stories they carry and the role they play in daily life.Â
Fun Facts Near the BridgesÂ
Bridge to School
Jambatan KebangÂ
Every day, children in Kg Mukut cross this modest bridge to reach SK Mukut, located at the far end of the village. Previously, the bridge was affected by high tides and monsoon conditions, making access difficult. Recent upgrades have improved safety.
Bridge Near the Fallen Jetty
Jambatan Sungai KelopakÂ
Once the main landing spot for boats, the nearby jetty collapsed in 1987. The surrounding bridge still stands — a silent witness to Mukut’s evolving history and resilience.Â
CCTV for Safety
Jambatan Sungai PelepahÂ
Surveillance cameras near the Mukut Tourist Centre and Dragon Horn hike entrance area provide added security, especially during monsoon or tourist peak seasons.Â
WiFi by the Water
Jambatan Sungai RayaÂ
Broadband connectivity now extends close to the masjid, school area and jetty, letting students, villagers, and visitors stay connected even by the sea.
Better access to the beach and rivers
Jambatan Air Demik 2Â
We’re improving the route that leads to SK Mukut’s beach access, giving students and locals a safer, clearer path for both learning and leisure by the shoreline.Â
Access to the hidden gem, Asah Waterfall
Jambatan Air Demik 1
Locals say the rivers around Kampung Mukutare guarded by folklore stories. As TM thoughtfully improves infrastructure near these rivers, acknowledging local belief helps blend tradition and progress—ensuring that every crossing, restoration, and upgrade is done with sensitivity.Â
